The Blackcart Service Fee for Shopify merchants is 3%, charged based on the value of the items that your customers try.

An additional transaction fee of 2.9% + 30¢ is applied to the total cart value. Fees are only deducted from customer charges. More details.

Fee Policy

1. Blackcart’s Fees.
1.1 Fees Overview.

We reserve the right to adjust your future fees at our sole discretion upon 30 Days written notice to you. Unless an overriding agreement states otherwise, our fees follow the schedule described in this section

1.2 Merchant Fee.

Our standard Service fee is 3% on the total Try Before You Buy order amount after discounts. Service Fee is not charged on the taxes or shipping for TBYB amounts. Additionally, we charge a Transaction Fee (2.9% + 30¢) on the total amount of all charges in the transaction. These fees will always be taken first in the event of a deposit.
If the customer does not ‘keep’ goods equal to or in excess of the Merchant Fee, BlackCart will waive the remaining fee amount. (I.e. Customer TBYB order amount is $200, so the Merchant Fee is $12.10. The customer decides to only keep $10 worth of goods, BlackCart will only take $10 as a fee instead of the full $12.10)
The Merchant will be notified via email following the approval of the application if the rate varies from our standard Merchant Fee. We reserve the right to increase fees in the future if our view of the Merchant's risk profile changes. If a decision is made to increase the rate for the Merchant, BlackCart will notify the Merchant via email.

1.3 Fees Overview.

As exchanges are essentially the equivalent of a customer indicating a good is ‘kept’ from a money movement standpoint, BlackCart will charge all applicable fees above on exchanges.

1.4 Refund Fees.

If you choose to refund a payment, BlackCart retains our original fees but charges no additional fees for the refund. BlackCart will handle all payments to the user to complete the refund.
The full refund amount will be paid by the merchant to the customer via BlackCart.

1.5 Payment Processing Fee on Restocking Charges.

BlackCart does not charge any fees on Restocking charges. However, if the customer has already paid a deposit, and it is being used for a restocking fee, BlackCart will not refund Merchant Fees which have already been taken.

1.6 Shipping Fees

Shipping Fees are typically paid for by the customer at checkout, but in the event of a return, the merchant will cover any fees associated with shipping of the item back to their warehouse.

1.7 Fraud Coverage Fee

If a merchant has signed a Fraud Coverage contract, BlackCart will charge a 1% fee on the total TBYB cart amount for each order. In return, BlackCart will cover the outstanding amount owed on any Fraudulent order, and the amount will be sent to the merchant.

1.8 Currency Conversion.

As currency prices vary constantly, it’s not possible to know for certain the Foreign Exchange (FX) rate you’ll receive on a settlement. The online rate you see at various sites, such as XE.com, is the mid-market rate: the average prices at which people are buying and selling the currency. The actual FX rate includes markups from financial institutions.
